Halloween is taking over Toronto, and this year, there’s no need to venture far from the downtown core to get into the spirit. With Halloween falling on a Saturday in 2026, the city is gearing up for a full weekend of costumes, spooky experiences, late-night parties and plenty of reasons to stay out after dark.
If you’re staying in the Financial District, you’re already in a pretty great spot for a Halloween weekend. From ghost stories and historic buildings to immersive art, cocktails and costume parties, there’s plenty happening within walking distance or a short TTC ride of Hotel Victoria.
Here’s how to make the most of a spooky weekend downtown.
Before the costumes and cocktails take over, get acquainted with some of Toronto’s darker history.
The Original Haunted Walk of Toronto departs from the courtyard in front of the Hockey Hall of Fame at 10 Front Street West, making it an especially convenient option from the Financial District. The 75-minute walking tour dives into Toronto’s ghost stories, historic tragedies, unsolved mysteries and supposedly haunted buildings.
It’s also a fun way to see the downtown core from a different perspective — because once you start hearing stories about the city’s older buildings, you may never walk past them quite the same way again.
For something a little further afield, Spirits of the Distillery District Ghost Tour offers another chance to explore one of Toronto’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods after dark. The Distillery’s cobblestone streets and historic architecture practically do half the spooky work for you.
And then, of course, there’s the main event. On October 31, Hotel Victoria transforms into something decidedly less… normal for Belly of the Beast: An Interactive Halloween Exhibit.
Hosted by Mossop’s Social House, the hotel becomes a mysterious mad scientist’s laboratory where something has clearly gone wrong. Guests can explore immersive Afro-Speculative installations and artwork from Toronto artists Sally Vusi, Noella Alpha and Queen Kukoyi, with sculptures, mutated plant life and strange discoveries hidden throughout the property.
The experience continues with DJ sets from Mizaan, DJ MisteuRing and DJ Has, plus Halloween-themed food and drinks throughout the evening.
🎃 When: Saturday, October 31
🕕 Entry: 6:15 PM or 6:45 PM
📍 Where: 56 Yonge Street

If October 31 is your big night out, don’t feel like you have to spend the entire evening at one event.
Halloween on Church Street is one of the city’s biggest annual Halloween celebrations, with Church Street transformed into a pedestrian-only party on October 31. The event starts with family-friendly programming in the early evening before the atmosphere gets decidedly more adult later into the night.
It’s a short trip from the Financial District and an easy option if you want to see some truly committed Toronto costumes.
The fun doesn’t have to start (or end) on Halloween night.
Friday, October 30 is a great time to get into the Halloween spirit before the big night. Check out a Halloween dinner performance like Dinner, Darling: A Rocky Horror Drag Show, book a ghost tour, or simply head out for dinner and drinks before the weekend crowds arrive.
And if you’re staying into Sunday, you can finish the weekend with brunch at Mossop’s Social House and slowly wander through the city before heading home, just to take it all in.
After all, it will be a weekend to remember.
