Jilly Frances will be featuring her Ground collection, with new pieces from her subseries, Place, made from the ground and marking neighbourhoods we call home (Parkdale, Forest Hill, Roncesvalles, Annex, and more).

In Ground, inks made from the ground reveal themselves self-reflectively, as living colour. Plant matter and daily debris in passing are dripped onto cotton, staining a portrait of colour itself that remains very much alive, carrying its memory past its time.

Jilly Frances earmarks the residue of daily life, reflecting back to us passing moments that are both present and fleeting. Recognizing the ephemeral nature of time and light, Jilly turns ordinary bits of ground, moving skies, and flickering shadows into galaxies of their own.
